A Dirty Rotten Evening

September 8, 2014hannagilbertTheatreNo comments

A few months ago, I was lucky enough to be invited by Laughing Buddha UK, to the digital press evening, for the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

The evening was spent in London’s swanky Savoy Theatre, where us theatre bloggers and reviewers were treated to wine, pizza and dancing.

Before the show, we were given the rare opportunity to go on stage and learn a little of the choreography, which was so much fun. The choreographers and dancers took us through a few ‘salsa’ style moves before letting us strut our stuff to the music. I even ended up taking part in a ‘human cradle’ in which four chaps swung me back and forth by my wrists and ankles! Quite an experience let me tell you!

The show itself was fantastic and great fun to watch. We all kept our eyes open for the four seconds of choreography we’d learnt earlier but the dancers were pretty nippy so it was hard to follow! You can read my review of the show here.

Afterwards, we gathered in a private area (with more wine) and met the cast. The dancers were all very friendly and we even got to meet the stars of the show, Robert Lindsay, Rufus Hound and Katherine Kingsley.

A big thank-you to Laughing Buddha UK for organizing the trip and to the cast and crew of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for giving us a dirty rotten evening to remember!
